We offer a full range of exams to meet routine and medical needs, including comprehensive eye exams (vision and health check), contact lens fittings (including specialty and toric/multifocal lenses), pediatric eye exams tailored for infants, toddlers, and school-age children, and medical visits for conditions like infections, dry eye, and other ocular concerns.
Annual exams are a good rule of thumb for many patients, but the ideal frequency depends on age and health: children and teens often need more frequent checks while their eyes are developing; adults with healthy eyes can sometimes extend to every 1–2 years; anyone with a chronic condition (diabetes, glaucoma risk, contact lens wearers, certain medications) should be seen yearly or as recommended by the doctor.
Yes — 20/20 measures one aspect of clarity but doesn’t assess overall eye health. A comprehensive exam looks for eye diseases, early signs of conditions like glaucoma or macular problems, binocular vision or focusing issues, and changes that could affect vision later. Regular exams are preventive care, even when sight seems perfect.
Exact rates vary by population and age, but many people do not have natural 20/20 acuity without correction. A significant portion of adults wear glasses or contacts to achieve or maintain 20/20 vision. The best way to know your status is with a professional eye exam.
Yes. We do offer same-day appointments when availability allows. To improve your chances of a same-day slot, call early in the day; we can also advise on walk-in acceptance and next-available openings.
An optometrist provides primary eye care — comprehensive exams, vision correction (glasses/contacts), and diagnosis/management of many eye conditions. An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor who treats eye disease and performs eye surgery. We routinely partner with ophthalmologists when surgical or specialized medical care is needed.
Yes. We provide prescription sunglasses, polarized options, and safety-rated lenses and frames suitable for work or sports.
Yes, as long as the frames are in good condition and can safely accommodate the new lens type and prescription. Bring your frames in and our optical team will inspect fit, size, and structural integrity, then advise on lens options (single vision, progressive, impact-resistant, etc.).
Daily disposables are worn once and discarded, offering high convenience and reduced risk of deposit-related irritation or infection; ideal for allergy sufferers or occasional wearers. Monthly (or 2-week) lenses are replaced on a reuse schedule and require nightly cleaning and proper storage; they can be more cost-effective for regular wearers. Your lifestyle, eye health, and comfort determine the best choice.
Consider blue-light or computer glasses if you spend long hours on screens and experience symptoms of digital eye strain, including headaches, eye fatigue, dry eyes, or difficulty focusing after prolonged screen use. Evidence about blue-light blocking preventing long-term damage is mixed, but specialty lenses, anti-reflective coatings, and good screen habits (20-20-20 rule) can reduce discomfort. We’ll assess your symptoms and recommend practical solutions.
Insurance benefits can change, so we recommend calling us for a benefits check before your visit. We’re happy to verify coverage for exams, frames, lenses, and contacts.
Yes. Current self-pay pricing is: eye exam $99; contact lens fitting + exam generally $139–$179 (depending on lens type); office visits (medical) $85–$120. Prices may vary, so please call to confirm and to ask about current promotions or discounts.
You can call either office to schedule, or book online using our portal. If you need urgent care, call us so we can direct you to the fastest available appointment.
Yes. We diagnose and manage common ocular conditions, including bacterial/viral eye infections, dry eye disease, allergic conjunctivitis, and red eye, and provide appropriate treatment, prescriptions, or referrals when specialist care is required.
Yes. We perform diabetic retinal screenings and monitor for changes related to diabetes that can affect vision. If we identify signs of diabetic retinopathy or other complications, we coordinate care with your primary physician and refer to retinal specialists as needed.
